Circus Showman in Chesham: what to know

Our Chesham venue list covers 4 hotels, 3 country houses and 2 estates, and Pendley Manor can hold up to 600 guests. We plan circus entertainment around the space you have, from arrival routes to where a showpiece will be seen best.

We cover Chesham itself and the HP5 postcode district, including Botley, as well as nearby Amersham, Tring, Rickmansworth and Beaconsfield.

Check your ceiling early. If you want aerial overhead, we check the venue's rigging. If not, we bring a freestanding rig.

What is in a circus package?

A circus theme is all about spectacle: a ringmaster to run the night, aerialists overhead, contortionists, stilt walkers and fire to finish.

It works brilliantly for awards nights, product launches and summer parties, because every act gives guests something to point at and film. Freestanding aerial rigs mean you do not need ceiling rigging points.

Where it works best

  • The welcome

A ringmaster to host and introduce each moment

  • The reception

Stilt walkers and walkabout characters as guests arrive

  • Through the evening

An aerial act on a freestanding rig

  • The headline moment

Contortion or a fire show as the finale

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Check your ceiling early

If you want aerial overhead, we check the venue's rigging. If not, we bring a freestanding rig.

  2. 2

    Let the ringmaster host

A ringmaster can introduce speeches, awards and each act, so the night flows like a show.

  3. 3

    Go outdoors for fire

Save the fire show for a terrace, courtyard or garden as the finale.

Frequently asked questions

Which venues near Chesham can host a large event?

On our list, Pendley Manor (up to 600 guests), Hunton Park Hotel (up to 500 guests) and The Grove (up to 400 guests) can take 400 or more guests. Tell us your venue and numbers and we will plan circus themed entertainment around the space.

Do venues around Chesham have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do circus themed entertainment cost in Chesham?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Chesham is 25 miles north-west of central London. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Chesham do you cover?

All of HP5, including Botley, plus the rest of Buckinghamshire and nearby Amersham, Tring, Rickmansworth and Beaconsfield.

Do aerial acts need rigging points?

Not always. Freestanding aerial rigs work in most venues with enough height. If your venue has rated rigging points we can use those instead.

Can the circus theme work indoors?

Yes. Everything except fire works indoors with enough space. Fire is planned for outdoor areas and with the venue's approval.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
