Circus Showman in Galashiels: what to know

Galashiels sits in Glasgow, 27 miles south-east of Edinburgh. Whether your event is in a hotel, a marquee or your own garden, we plan circus entertainment around the space, the timings and the guests.

Bookings from Lauder, Walkerburn and Gordon and the rest of Glasgow are just as easy. Travel for circus entertainment is included in your quote, so the price you see is the price you pay.

One thing we always check for events in Galashiels: let the ringmaster host. A ringmaster can introduce speeches, awards and each act, so the night flows like a show.

What is in a circus package?

A circus theme is all about spectacle: a ringmaster to run the night, aerialists overhead, contortionists, stilt walkers and fire to finish.

It works brilliantly for awards nights, product launches and summer parties, because every act gives guests something to point at and film. Freestanding aerial rigs mean you do not need ceiling rigging points.

Where it works best

  • The welcome

A ringmaster to host and introduce each moment

  • The reception

Stilt walkers and walkabout characters as guests arrive

  • Through the evening

An aerial act on a freestanding rig

  • The headline moment

Contortion or a fire show as the finale

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Let the ringmaster host

A ringmaster can introduce speeches, awards and each act, so the night flows like a show.

  2. 2

    Go outdoors for fire

Save the fire show for a terrace, courtyard or garden as the finale.

  3. 3

    Check your ceiling early

If you want aerial overhead, we check the venue's rigging. If not, we bring a freestanding rig.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Galashiels have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do circus themed entertainment cost in Galashiels?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Galashiels is 27 miles south-east of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Galashiels do you cover?

All of TD1, TD4, TD6 and TD7, including Clovenfords, Scottish Borders, Stow, Melrose, St Boswells and Newtown St Boswells, plus the rest of Glasgow and nearby Lauder, Walkerburn, Gordon and Jedburgh.

Do aerial acts need rigging points?

Not always. Freestanding aerial rigs work in most venues with enough height. If your venue has rated rigging points we can use those instead.

Can the circus theme work indoors?

Yes. Everything except fire works indoors with enough space. Fire is planned for outdoor areas and with the venue's approval.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
