Booking under-the-sea entertainment for a Thurso event

Thurso sits in North Scotland, 183 miles north of Edinburgh. Whether your event is in a hotel, a marquee or your own garden, we plan under-the-sea entertainment around the space, the timings and the guests.

Bookings from Wick, Lybster and Balnabruich and the rest of North Scotland are just as easy. Travel for under-the-sea entertainment is included in your quote, so the price you see is the price you pay.

One thing we always check for events in Thurso: light it blue. Ask your AV team for blue and teal uplighting and the performers do the rest.

What is in an under-the-sea package?

An under-the-sea theme turns a room into an ocean: mermaids at the entrance, jellyfish and octopus characters roaming the crowd, aerial acts overhead and a sea god with a fire trident for the finale.

It is one of the most photographed themes we offer and works for summer parties, product launches, charity galas and pool parties.

Where it works best

  • The welcome

    Mermaids to welcome guests

  • The reception

Roaming sea creatures and pirates during the reception

  • Through the evening

An aerial act as the centrepiece

  • The headline moment

    A fire finale outdoors

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Use the pool

At venues with a pool or water feature, mermaids make the perfect focal point.

  2. 2

    Light it blue

Ask your AV team for blue and teal uplighting and the performers do the rest.

  3. 3

    Plan a reveal

Hold a fire trident moment back for the finale when the lights drop.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Thurso have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do under-the-sea themed entertainment cost in Thurso?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Which postcodes around Thurso do you cover?

All of KW12 and KW14, including Castletown and Halkirk, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Wick, Lybster, Balnabruich and Stromness.

Can mermaids perform in a pool?

Some can. Tell us about the venue's pool and we will check suitability, safety and the venue's rules before confirming.

Is the under-the-sea theme family friendly?

It can be. We choose the acts and costumes to suit your audience, from family fun days to evening galas.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.
