What does a fortune teller do at an event?

An event fortune teller gives short, light-hearted readings using tarot cards, palm reading or a crystal ball. Each reading takes a few minutes, and guests come away with a story to tell the rest of the table.

Readings are for entertainment only and kept positive and fun. A fortune teller in costume, with a draped table or small tent, adds atmosphere to circus, masquerade and vintage fair themes as well as Halloween and Christmas parties.

Where it works best

Circus and showman themes
A mystic's tent at the travelling fair.
Masquerade balls
Readings by candlelight for masked guests.
Christmas parties
A fun queue between drinks.
Hen and birthday parties
Readings that get everyone laughing.
Halloween parties
Atmosphere and a little mystery.
Weddings
Something light-hearted for guests during photos.

Tips from our team

1
Create a quiet corner
Readings work best a little away from the loudest speakers so guests can hear.
2
Dress the space
A draped table, candles or a small tent makes the corner part of the theme.
3
Keep it light
We brief readers to keep everything fun and positive, which is what guests want at a party.
