What is an ice sculpture or ice luge?

An ice sculpture is a carved centrepiece made from clear ice: a logo, an initial, an animal, a swan or a design built around your theme. Lit from below, it catches the light and becomes a natural focal point on a buffet, bar or entrance table.

An ice luge is a sculpture with a channel carved through it. Drinks are poured in at the top and run down through the ice to chill on the way into the glass. Luges suit drinks receptions, Christmas parties, winter themes and brand launches.

Tips from our team

1
Check delivery access
Sculptures are heavy and delivered on the day. Tell us about loading, lifts and stairs.
2
Plan for melting
Ice melts slowly in a warm room. A drip tray and a cooler spot away from heaters keep it looking good for longer.
3
Light it from below
An LED base lights the ice beautifully. Some bases need a power point nearby.

On our list, Marshall Arena – Stadium MK (up to 1200 guests) and DoubleTree by Hilton Milton Keynes (up to 1000 guests) can take 400 or more guests. Tell us your venue and numbers and we will plan ice sculptures and ice luges around the space.

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do ice sculptures and ice luges cost in Olney?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. All of MK46, including Lavendon, Milton Keynes and Emberton, plus the rest of Buckinghamshire and nearby Milton Keynes, Northampton, Kempston and Wellingborough.

Yes. Send us your logo and we will confirm what can be carved for your date.

Who pours the drinks through the luge?

Usually the venue's bar team or a bartender we provide. We agree this with your venue.
