Penrith venues and ice sculptures and ice luges

Penrith sits in Cumbria, 51 miles south-west of Newcastle upon Tyne. Whether your event is in a hotel, a marquee or your own garden, we plan ice sculptures and ice luges around the space, the timings and the guests.

Bookings from Appleby-in-Westmorland, Keswick and Carlisle and the rest of Cumbria are just as easy. Travel for ice sculptures and ice luges is included in your quote, so the price you see is the price you pay.

One thing we always check for events in Penrith: plan for melting. Ice melts slowly in a warm room. A drip tray and a cooler spot away from heaters keep it looking good for longer.

What is an ice sculpture or ice luge?

An ice sculpture is a carved centrepiece made from clear ice: a logo, an initial, an animal, a swan or a design built around your theme. Lit from below, it catches the light and becomes a natural focal point on a buffet, bar or entrance table.

An ice luge is a sculpture with a channel carved through it. Drinks are poured in at the top and run down through the ice to chill on the way into the glass. Luges suit drinks receptions, Christmas parties, winter themes and brand launches.

Where it works best

  • Logo centrepieces

Your brand carved in clear ice.

  • Seafood and buffet displays

    Ice bowls and display pieces.

  • Winter wonderland

Ice that makes the theme real.

  • Christmas parties

A frosted centrepiece for the bar.

  • Weddings

Initials or a swan on the top table.

  • Drinks receptions

Shots poured through an ice luge.

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Light it from below

An LED base lights the ice beautifully. Some bases need a power point nearby.

  2. 2

    Plan for melting

Ice melts slowly in a warm room. A drip tray and a cooler spot away from heaters keep it looking good for longer.

  3. 3

    Check delivery access

Sculptures are heavy and delivered on the day. Tell us about loading, lifts and stairs.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Penrith have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do ice sculptures and ice luges cost in Penrith?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Penrith is 51 miles south-west of Newcastle upon Tyne. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Penrith do you cover?

All of CA10 and CA11, including Greystoke, Shap, Lazonby, Langwathby, Eamont Bridge and Kirkby Thore, plus the rest of Cumbria and nearby Appleby-in-Westmorland, Keswick, Carlisle and Alston.

How long does an ice sculpture last?

It depends on the room temperature and size. In a typical indoor room a sculpture lasts through an evening, slowly changing as it melts.

Can you carve our logo?

Yes. Send us your logo and we will confirm what can be carved for your date.

Who pours the drinks through the luge?

Usually the venue's bar team or a bartender we provide. We agree this with your venue.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
