What is a samba and carnival show?

Samba dancers perform fast, rhythmic Brazilian-style routines in bright carnival costumes with feathered backpieces, sequins and headdresses. It is loud, colourful and full of energy, and it gets people moving.

Dancers can perform a short show, lead a conga onto the dance floor or parade through the venue, and they can be paired with live drummers for a full carnival feel. Carnival dancers with metallic wings also work as striking walkabout.

Where it works best

Weddings
A surprise burst of carnival for the evening.
Launches
Energy and colour for a reveal.
Summer parties
Carnival colour for a garden or terrace.
Dance floor starters
A short set that pulls everyone up.
Festivals and fun days
Parades and walkabout through the crowd.
Around-the-world themes
A Rio moment in a themed night.

Tips from our team

1
Add live drums
Samba dancers with live percussion is far bigger than dancers to a track.
2
Time it for the turn
The moment the dancing starts is when samba has the most impact.
3
Allow for the backpieces
Feathered backpieces are wide. Doorways and walkways need a little extra room.
