Booking acrobats for a Stromness event

Stromness sits in North Scotland, 208 miles north of Edinburgh. Whether your event is in a hotel, a marquee or your own garden, we plan acrobats around the space, the timings and the guests.

Bookings from Kirkwall, Thurso and Wick and the rest of North Scotland are just as easy. Travel for acrobats is included in your quote, so the price you see is the price you pay.

One thing we always check for events in Stromness: give them a clear, level area. Acrobats need a flat, stable floor and room to move. Uneven ground limits the act.

What do acrobats perform at events?

Event acrobats perform floor-based acts of strength and balance: hand balancing, partner lifts, human pyramids, tumbling and strongman routines. Unlike aerial acts, most need no rigging at all, just a clear, level space.

They can perform a short showpiece on stage, hold striking poses as a welcome act, or work through the crowd between sets. Acrobatic duos and comedy strongmen are especially popular at awards nights and summer parties.

Where it works best

Welcome acts
Striking balance poses as guests arrive.
Awards nights
A showpiece to open the ceremony.
Summer parties
Outdoor shows on a lawn or terrace.
Launches
Feats of strength around a reveal.
Circus themes
Strongmen and tumblers for a big-top night.
Family days
Comedy strongmen that everyone enjoys.

Tips from our team

1
Use a stage or riser
A raised area means guests at the back can see the whole act.
2
Give them a clear, level area
Acrobats need a flat, stable floor and room to move. Uneven ground limits the act.
3
Check the ceiling for lifts
Partner lifts and balances add height. Tell us about low ceilings or chandeliers.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Stromness have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do acrobats cost in Stromness?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Stromness is 208 miles north of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Stromness do you cover?

All of KW16, including Orkney Islands, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Kirkwall, Thurso, Wick and Lybster.

Do acrobats need rigging?

Usually not. Most acrobatic acts are floor-based and need only a clear, level space.

Can acrobats perform outdoors?

Often, yes, on firm level ground in dry weather. We agree a plan B with the venue.

How long is an acrobatic show?

Usually a short, high-impact set, or several short spots through the evening. We plan it around your timings.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
