What does a caricaturist do at an event?

A caricaturist draws quick, playful portraits of guests, exaggerating features in a fun and flattering way. Each drawing takes a few minutes, and there is usually a small crowd watching, which makes it entertaining for everyone, not just the sitter.

Traditional caricaturists draw on paper with pens and markers. Digital caricaturists draw on a tablet, and the finished picture can be printed on site or sent to guests to share, often with your logo or event branding added.

Where it works best

Trade shows
A queue at your stand with your logo on every drawing.
Parisian themes
A Montmartre street artist feel.
Weddings
A keepsake for every guest.
Brand activations
Digital caricatures shared straight to social.
Corporate parties
A personal take-home for the team.
Birthdays
A fun memento of the party.

Tips from our team

1
Give them good light
A well-lit corner with a table and two chairs keeps the drawings flowing.
2
Set expectations on numbers
Each drawing takes a few minutes, so not every guest may be drawn at a large event. We advise on how many artists you need.
3
Choose paper or digital
Paper feels traditional and personal. Digital suits branding, printing and instant sharing.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Lerwick have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do caricaturists cost in Lerwick?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Lerwick is 299 miles north of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Lerwick do you cover?

All of ZE1, including Scalloway and Shetland Islands, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Brae, Hestingott, Kirkwall and Stromness.

How many guests can a caricaturist draw?

It depends on the style and the time booked. Tell us your numbers and we will advise on one artist or more.

Can digital caricatures include our logo?

Yes. Digital drawings can carry your logo, event name or a branded frame.

What does the caricaturist need on site?

A table, two chairs and good light. Digital artists may also need power for a printer.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
