Planning Gatsby entertainment in Lerwick

Lerwick sits in North Scotland, 299 miles north of Edinburgh. Whether your event is in a hotel, a marquee or your own garden, we plan Gatsby entertainment around the space, the timings and the guests.

Bookings from Brae, Hestingott and Kirkwall and the rest of North Scotland are just as easy. Travel for Gatsby entertainment is included in your quote, so the price you see is the price you pay.

One thing we always check for events in Lerwick: make the arrival the moment. Hostesses with feathered fans and a stilt walker at the entrance set the tone before anyone reaches the bar.

What is in a Gatsby package?

A Gatsby night works because everyone knows the look: feathers, pearls, sharp suits, art deco gold and a room full of fizz. Our Gatsby performers bring that world in with them, from the moment guests arrive to the last dance.

Pick a single showpiece, like stilt walkers or a giant champagne glass, or build a full package with hosts, a jazz singer, Charleston dancers and roaming characters who stay in character all night.

Where it works best

  • The welcome

Hosts or hostesses to greet guests at the door

  • The reception

Stilt walkers or champagne walkers during the drinks reception

  • Through the evening

A jazz singer or band through drinks and dinner

  • The headline moment

A giant champagne glass show as the headline moment

  • The finale

Charleston dancers to open the dance floor

Tips from our team

  1. 1

    Make the arrival the moment

Hostesses with feathered fans and a stilt walker at the entrance set the tone before anyone reaches the bar.

  2. 2

    Teach the Charleston

A short dance lesson from the dancers gets even the shyest guests up and laughing.

  3. 3

    Keep the music in period

Jazz standards through dinner, then let the DJ take over with electro swing.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Lerwick have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do Gatsby themed entertainment cost in Lerwick?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Lerwick is 299 miles north of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Lerwick do you cover?

All of ZE1, including Scalloway and Shetland Islands, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Brae, Hestingott, Kirkwall and Stromness.

What is included in a Gatsby entertainment package?

There is no fixed package. Most clients mix a welcome act (hosts or stilt walkers), a showpiece (champagne glass or champagne walkers), live jazz and dancers. We suggest a line-up that fits your venue, timings and budget.

Can the performers serve drinks?

Yes. Champagne walkers and some hosts can serve welcome drinks or canapés, working with your venue's bar and catering team.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
