What is an electric violinist?

An electric violinist plays an amplified violin, usually with backing tracks, performing modern covers of pop, dance and rock as well as classical pieces. The sound is big and bright, and the performance is far more energetic than a traditional string player.

Violinists can play a relaxed set for a drinks reception, a high-energy showpiece, or play over the DJ to lift the dance floor. Wireless kit means many can roam the room, and LED or mirror costumes add a visual edge.

On our list, Eastside Rooms (up to 1200 guests), Edgbaston Stadium (up to 800 guests), Sapphire Suite & Events (up to 800 guests) and Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (up to 750 guests) can take 400 or more guests.
