What happens in a fire show?

Fire performers dance and manipulate fire using props like poi, staffs, fans and tridents. A fire show is dramatic, loud on the senses and an unbeatable finale.

Fire is almost always outdoors, on a terrace, courtyard, lawn or beach, and always with the venue's approval and a proper safety plan.

Where it works best

Festivals
Evening shows that draw a crowd.
Grand finales
The last moment before the dancing.
Summer parties
After dark on a terrace or lawn.
Weddings
A send-off guests will film.
Brand events
A reveal with real impact.
Under-the-sea themes
A sea god with a fire trident.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Kirkwall have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do fire performers cost in Kirkwall?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Kirkwall is 209 miles north of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Kirkwall do you cover?

All of KW15 and KW17, including Orkney Islands, Finstown, St Margaret's Hope, St Mary's and Dounby, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Stromness, Thurso, Wick and Lybster.

Can fire performers work indoors?

Rarely. Fire shows are planned for outdoor spaces, with the venue's approval and a safety plan.

How long is a fire show?

Usually a short, high-impact set. We plan it around your timings and the venue's rules.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.
