What is a living statue?

A living statue is a performer in full costume and body paint who holds perfectly still, like a sculpture, then moves at just the right moment to surprise guests. Done well, people walk past assuming it is part of the decor.

Styles include floral statues, frozen ice queens, gilded classical figures and masked Venetian looks. They work on plinths at an entrance, along a garden path, beside a bar or on an exhibition stand, and some can hold a tray of drinks or favours.

Where it works best

Stops people in a busy hall and starts conversations.
Entrances and arrivals
A statue at the door is the first photo every guest takes.
Winter events
Frozen statues and ice queens for a winter wonderland.
Masquerade balls
Masked statues for old-world glamour.
Drinks receptions
Something to discover while photos and speeches happen.
Weddings
Floral statues matched to your flowers.

Tips from our team

1
Think about lighting
A little uplighting on a statue makes the costume and the reveal far more dramatic.
2
Place them where people walk
Statues work best on a route guests pass along, not tucked in a corner.
3
Plan sets and breaks
Holding still is hard work. Statues perform in sets, which we plan around your timings.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Forres have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do living statues cost in Forres?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Forres is 116 miles north of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Forres do you cover?

All of IV36, including Kinloss, Moray, Findhorn and Mundole, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Nairn, Elgin, Rothes and Fochabers.

How long can a living statue stay still?

Professional statues work in sets with short breaks. We plan the sets so there is always something happening when guests are around.

Can living statues serve drinks?

Some can hold a tray of champagne, canapés or favours. Tell us what you have in mind.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.
