Why book a jazz singer or band?

A jazz singer or swing band sets the mood like nothing else: relaxed and elegant through drinks and dinner, then upbeat when it is time to dance.

It is the soundtrack of a Gatsby night and works just as well at gala dinners, weddings and client receptions.

Where it works best

Drinks receptions
Elegant background music.
Gatsby nights
Roaring twenties jazz and swing.
Dinner
Live music through the meal.
Weddings
From the ceremony to the first dance.
Client events
Sophisticated and easy to talk over.
Christmas parties
Swing versions of festive classics.

Tips from our team

1
Choose the line-up for the room
A solo singer suits a reception room. A band suits a ballroom.
2
Check power and space
Bands need power and a performance area. We send a simple tech sheet.
3
Agree volume levels
Background during dinner, louder for dancing. We plan it with you.

Frequently asked questions

Do venues around Forres have rules for performers?

Many hotels and country houses have rules on ceiling rigging, fire, access times and changing space. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will check everything before we confirm.

How much do jazz singers and bands cost in Forres?

There is no fixed price. Every event is different. Prices depend on the acts, the number of performers, timings, travel and location, so we quote each booking individually. Travel is part of the quote, and Forres is 116 miles north of Edinburgh. Send us your date and venue for free, no-obligation options.

Which postcodes around Forres do you cover?

All of IV36, including Kinloss, Moray, Findhorn and Mundole, plus the rest of North Scotland and nearby Nairn, Elgin, Rothes and Fochabers.

Can the singer take requests?

Usually, with notice. Send your list and we will check with the performer.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can. Friday and Saturday dates in December and the summer months go first, often months ahead. Short notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

Can the performers match our theme or brand colours?

Usually, yes. Tell us your theme, colours or brand guidelines and we will suggest the costumes and acts that fit best.

Do you work with our venue and event team?

Yes. We agree access, changing space, timings and any venue rules before the day, and work to your run of show.

Still have questions?

Tell us about your event and we'll come back with options.
